Dizziness following COVID-19 vaccination can occasionally be a symptom of an allergic reaction, but this is most common in the first 15 to 30 minutes of vaccination, according to CDC. In many cases, such allergic reactions are accompanied by skin symptoms quickly following vaccination, including skin rashes, itching, flushing and swelling.
Vestibular Neuritis is a disorder characterized by extreme dizziness (vertigo), balance difficulties, nausea and difficulty concentrating. The symptoms are often quite severe and episodes will abruptly strike, lasting several days and causing vomiting. Fortunately for me, unfortunately for her, my doctor had personally experienced Vestibular Neuritis while she was in medical school. So, she understood exactly what I was going through. She confirmed my suspicions, and properly diagnosed me with Vestibular Neuritis. In her case, Vestibular Neuritis lasted 3 months, and it hasn’t recurred.
Thought it was "brain fog". My physician said it was textbook vertigo and possible vestibular neuritis. After seeing specialist ( audiologist) diagnosed me with nystagmus in both eyes. Feeling unbalanced and constant need to faint, nausea (took zofran), headaches, ear aches/fullness. I went to urgent care, ENT, cardiologist, and PCP. My PCP has been pretty supportive and feels that it was a side effect to the vaccine. She and my ENT believe it is inflammation of the inner ear nerve (vestibular neuritis).
